The Open University of the University of Warsaw was established in 2008 to implement and promote the idea of lifelong learning, in line with the mission of the University of Warsaw. It is the oldest institution of this kind in Poland, a precursor, and a leader in the sector of continuing education.

The Open University UW provides participants with the opportunity to take part in courses conducted by the academic and teaching staff of the University of Warsaw, regardless of their education, age, or professional qualifications.

Published three times a year, the offer of open courses includes a wide range of proposals from all fields of knowledge, from humanities and social sciences to foreign languages and natural and exact sciences.

Additionally, the Open University UW engages in educational and cultural activities, organizing numerous events such as debates, open lectures, summer cinema, and outdoor concerts.
