Program Objectives:

Second-degree studies in Management aim to educate a graduate with in-depth knowledge of management and related disciplines (primarily economics, finance, legal sciences) and advanced proficiency in research methodology and terminology in the field of management and complementary disciplines.

The program intends to produce a graduate with knowledge of the principles of creating and developing various forms of entrepreneurship, ready to act entrepreneurially on both national and global scales. Graduates will possess the skills and competencies to recognize, diagnose, and solve complex and atypical problems related to the functioning of organizations, as well as to determine the impact of the technological, social, political, legal, economic, and ecological environment on the functioning of organizations and the entire economy. The program will cultivate the ability to independently and collectively prepare analyses, diagnoses, and reports on complex and atypical issues related to the functioning of organizations, sectors, and the entire economy, presenting them in both Polish and English. It will prepare graduates for self-directed learning and knowledge updating, supporting others in this area, and adhering to and developing professional ethical standards.

In terms of knowledge, the graduate:

  • possesses in-depth knowledge of management as a science and its place in the system of social sciences, with an interdisciplinary view of management.
  • in-depth understanding of the terminology and research methodology in the field of management and quality sciences, as well as complementary disciplines: economics, finance, and legal sciences.
  • in-depth and organized knowledge of the functioning of organizations, their diverse types, purposes, structures, operations, cultures, and relationships with the environment.
  • in-depth knowledge of procedures and practices for effective organizational management, applicable in various types of organizations and decision-making situations.
  • in-depth and organized knowledge regarding organizational functions: operational, marketing, financial, personnel management.
  • in-depth understanding of economic theories and models related to the functioning of organizations and the entire economy.
  • in-depth understanding of legal regulations concerning the functioning of organizations and the entire economy.
  • advanced techniques for analyzing the impact of the external environment on organizational functioning.
  • advanced methods and tools, including techniques for acquiring, analyzing, and protecting data needed for decision-making in organizations.

  • can correctly interpret complex and atypical social, political, legal, economic, and technological phenomena and their impact on the functioning of organizations and the entire economy.

  • can comprehensively assess the market, financial, and social effects of decisions and initiatives and present their substantive justification.

  • Required documents from candidates qualified for full-time master’s studies will be accepted in paper form at dates specified in the IRK system. Details of document submission organization will be communicated to candidates through the IRK system.

Required documents from candidates qualified for full-time master’s studies:

  • Original or authenticated copy of the diploma of completion of higher education studies: master’s, bachelor’s, engineer’s, or an equivalent diploma issued abroad, for the purpose of making a copy and certifying its conformity with the original or authenticated copy.
  • Diploma supplement or certified program of completed studies, for the purpose of making a copy and certifying its conformity with the original or authenticated copy.
  • Personal questionnaire containing the candidate’s photo, printed from the personal registration account in the IRK system, and signed by the candidate.
  • Declaration of familiarity with the content of the model contract for educational services at the University of Warsaw.
  • Application for the issuance of the Electronic Student ID (ELS), printed after the candidate uploads their photo in electronic format to their personal registration account – in the case of candidates without ELS. NOTE: The photo must be uploaded to the IRK system in the appropriate format – requirements are published in the IRK system. The photo must then be approved by the Recruitment Committee, so please upload photos to the system as soon as possible. Photos that do not meet the conditions specified in the IRK system will be rejected, and the printout of documents by the candidate will not be possible.
  • Proof of payment for ELS (PLN 22) – in the case of candidates without ELS (account number). Candidates who are students at UW and already have ELS do not need to obtain a second ID.
  • In the case of submitting documents on behalf of the candidate by third parties, an authorization (personal) for the person submitting the documents must be presented (authorization template).
    NOTE! The document does not authorize signing on behalf of the candidate. Documents printed from the personal registration account in the IRK must be signed personally by the candidate.

Additional requirements for foreigners:

  • Confirmation of the legalization of stay for foreigners staying on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

  • Certificate confirming that the obtained diploma of completion of higher education studies entitles to apply for admission to higher education or to continue education in any type of higher education institution in the education system in which the institution issuing the document operates, with a translation into Polish. Payment declaration for candidates taking up studies on terms other than Polish citizens Description of the qualification procedure

The condition for admission to second-degree studies is to have a bachelor’s, engineer’s, master’s diploma, or an equivalent diploma. Candidates will take a written entrance exam in the form of a test covering the scope of issues in economics and management.

The maximum number of points to be obtained in the exam is 50.

The qualification threshold is 25 points.

Qualification rules for transfer studies (recruitment in this mode applies only to candidates studying at institutions other than UW)

  • Students from other universities applying for admission to studies at the Faculty of Management UW, on the basis of transfer, must have completed at least the first year of full-time master’s studies in Management with an average grade not lower than 4.5.
  • During the qualification process, a ranking list will be prepared, covering individuals with the highest average from the course of studies.
  • Students admitted to the Faculty of Management will be required to supplement program differences.
  • Students wishing to take up studies in the transfer mode should register in the IRK system and upload the following documents to the system:
    • Certificate of completion of at least the 1st year of studies in the academic year 2021/22, at a university other than UW.
    • Study progress card.
    • Certificate of the average grade from the current course of studies.
    • Document confirming settlement of the Student with the previous university.

Recruitment procedure for candidates for studies in the transfer mode from another university:

  1. Registration for studies in the transfer mode. NOTE: Registration takes place in the IRK system, in the part related to transfer from another university, not in the open recruitment part. Click on this link to register for studies in the transfer mode from a university other than UW!
  2. Uploading to the IRK system required documents in recruitment, as follows:
    • Certificate of completion of at least the 1st year of studies in the academic year 2022/23, at a university other than UW.
    • Study progress card.
    • Certificate of the average grade from the current course of studies.
    • Document confirming settlement of the Student with the previous university.
  3. Checking the recruitment results and reading messages from the Recruitment Committee WZ UW, located on the candidate’s individual account in the IRK system.
  4. Submission of a complete set of required documents to the dean’s office. Required documents include:
    • Certificate of completion of at least the 1st year of studies in the academic year 2022/23, at a university other than UW.
