The 15th European Financial Congress is underway, and among this year’s panelists are our lecturer Sebastian Skuza PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw, and our Management student – Magdalena Ziółczyńska.
The European Financial Congress is one of the most important gatherings for the financial sector in Central and Eastern Europe. It offers an open forum for debate on the stability of the European and Polish financial systems and aims to develop recommendations for systemic solutions that ensure safe and sustainable development. The participants of the EFC include top-level managers, economic policymakers, and representatives of the academic world. This year’s panelists from the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw include: 🔹 Dr. hab. Sebastian Skuza, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management, Head of the Department of Financial Systems of the EconomyDr. Skuza has been involved in public institutions and financial market entities for over 20 years. Between 1997 and 2012, he worked at the Ministry of Finance in the Department of Financial Policy and Analysis and the Department of Financial Market Development. From 2006 to 2013, he was a member of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Council. Since 2007, he has held various roles at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, including Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Managing Director, and Director of the Compliance Office. From 2010 to 2012, he represented the Minister of Finance in the Interministerial Committee for Financial Security. He has served on the Supervisory Board of the National Capital Fund and, since 2017, has been a member of the Ethics Committee at the Polish Bank Association. On June 23, 2017, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education. He is the author or co-author of approximately 170 publications on public finance, the capital market, banking, and financial stability. 🔹 Magdalena Ziółczyńska – Member of the EFC Academy, third-year Bachelor’s student in Management at the University of WarsawShe is a participant in the Masovian Startup accelerator (Youth Business Poland), where she is developing her own startup focused on multi-criteria tender risk analysis in linear infrastructure projects. She was awarded 2nd place in the “Startup Step by Step x AI Clearing” Hackathon. Her interests include public, corporate, and personal finance, international economics, startup globalization, and artificial intelligence. She is also a volunteer for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and an animal shelter. Passionate about dance and running.
