What you will learn

Master’s studies in Risk Management are designed for individuals seeking specialized knowledge and advanced tools essential for working in modern financial and risk management departments of both financial and non-financial institutions.

During the program, you will:

  • Deepen your knowledge in finance, economics, accounting, and investments as foundations for defining financial and risk management strategies;

Admission Rules

Applicants for the first year of second-cycle (master’s) studies must hold a bachelor’s, master’s, engineer’s, or equivalent degree.

Candidates are admitted to the program based on the arithmetic average calculated from:

  • the final grade on the higher education diploma,

  • the grade point average (GPA) from the course of studies.

A ranking list is created in the admission process based on the final score calculated according to the above criteria.

Admission Rules for Candidates with a Foreign Diploma

The same rules apply as for candidates with a diploma obtained in Poland.
If a foreign higher education diploma does not include a final grade, the equivalent grade will be the average grade from the course of study, converted to the grading scale used at the University of Warsaw.

Assessment of the candidate’s competence to study in Polish

Candidates holding a foreign higher education diploma who do not possess a document recognized by the University of Warsaw confirming their proficiency in the Polish language (in accordance with the general requirements set out in the recruitment resolution) must undergo an interview to verify their knowledge of Polish.

During the interview assessing Polish language proficiency, candidates will be evaluated on their ability to read and understand texts as well as their ability to formulate responses in Polish.
The interview will be based on the content of articles from the economic section of the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

  • The maximum number of points that can be earned from the Polish language interview: 5.

  • The minimum number of points required to pass the interview: 3.

The date of the Polish language proficiency interview (if applicable): July 29, 2025.

Recruitment Schedule for Studies in the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Registration in the IRK system: June 5, 2025 – July 22, 2025.
Payment of the recruitment fee: June 5, 2025 – July 23, 2025.
Announcement of results: August 1, 2025.
Submission of documents by qualified candidates: August 2, 5–6, 2025.
If there are any changes due to waiting list movements, additional two-day deadlines will be posted on the candidate’s individual account in the IRK system.

If the quota of places is not filled in the first recruitment round, a second round will be launched. Registration for the second round will begin on August 19, 2025.
