You’re invited to the finissage of the permanent exhibition “The Eagle and the University’s Five Stars”

The finissage of the permanent exhibition “The Eagle and the University’s Five Stars” will take place on May 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the University of Warsaw Museum, Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace, 32 Krakowskie Przedmieście. We also invite you to the closing weekend of the exhibition “The Eagle and the Five Stars of the University” This is the last opportunity to visit the exhibition showcasing the origins of the University of Warsaw. The display features priceless artifacts and historical educational, scientific, and artistic collections of the University. Two hundred years ago, these items were used by professors and students to explore and study the laws of nature, physics, medicine, and art. The years of partitions, wars, and the passage of time were not kind to these collections. Many of the surviving pieces were dispersed among various institutions. Identifying, locating, retrieving, and bringing them back to the University to be presented at the University of Warsaw Museum was a truly inspiring undertaking. The exhibition, now coming to a close, was opened ten years ago to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of the University of Warsaw in 1816. Today, the University proudly honors its rich history while simultaneously achieving top ranks and conducting cutting-edge research. We warmly invite you to take this final chance to explore the historical foundations of the University’s present-day accomplishments.

Time Management Techniques: How to Manage Your Time Effectively While Studying Management

Studying management involves not only gaining theoretical knowledge but also learning practical skills such as self-management and time management. The ability to manage time effectively can be the deciding factor in achieving success, both during your studies and in your future professional career. In this article, you’ll find practical tips to help you create your daily schedule, boost productivity, and save time. Implementing time management tools and strategies will support you in achieving your goals efficiently in both personal and professional life. Introduction to Time Management Time management is a skill that allows us to use time efficiently to achieve our goals and increase productivity. In today’s world, where time is incredibly valuable, mastering time management is essential for success in both work and personal life. In this article, we will provide practical advice to help you manage your time effectively and enhance your productivity. With proper planning and organization, you can gain better control over your responsibilities, avoid feeling overwhelmed, and achieve better results in less time. Effective Management: Prioritize and Plan Your Workday To manage time effectively, it is crucial to prioritize and plan your day. This means identifying what is most important and what can be postponed. It’s also important to schedule both work and breaks to avoid fatigue and loss of concentration. One practical approach is to create a daily task list and assign priorities to each item. This helps improve time management and increase productivity. Remember to stay flexible—things don’t always go as planned, so it’s important to adapt to changing circumstances and not lose motivation. Smart Planning: How to Handle Task Overload and Avoid Chaos The first step toward better time management is setting clear goals and priorities. Consider which tasks are important, which need immediate attention, and which can wait. Use tools such as the Eisenhower Matrix or the classic ABC method to distinguish between essential and less important tasks. A well-planned day allows you to focus on what truly matters without falling into chaos or feeling overwhelmed. Taking regular breaks and caring for your health enhances your problem-solving skills and overall efficiency. Eisenhower Matrix The Eisenhower Matrix, also known as the priority matrix, divides tasks into four categories based on urgency and importance: ABC Method The ABC method assigns letters to tasks based on their significance: Both methods help prioritize tasks, making your workday more organized and focused on what truly needs to be done, reducing chaos and stress. Time Management Skills Time management skills are essential for success in both professional and personal life. They include the ability to plan, organize, and control your time effectively. You also need to set priorities and make decisions that support goal achievement. These skills help boost productivity, reduce stress, and improve quality of life. Importantly, time management skills can be developed and refined over time. Regular practice, analyzing your habits, and making changes to your daily routine can bring significant benefits and help you manage your life better. Create To-Do Lists and Break Down Tasks There’s no better technique than the classic to-do list. Writing down everything you need to do helps you keep track of responsibilities and avoid missing deadlines. Breaking larger tasks into smaller parts is especially helpful if they require more time to complete. This allows you to monitor progress more easily and feel a sense of accomplishment even after completing a single step. Use Time Management Techniques Management students often benefit from various time management methods that improve focus, minimize distractions, and aid in better task planning. One of the most popular is the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working in short, intense time blocks. You can also group similar activities—like making phone calls or replying to emails—within set time slots. This boosts productivity and helps maintain focus on one task at a time. Pomodoro: Effective Time Management The Pomodoro Technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s. Its name comes from a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (“pomodoro” means “tomato” in Italian). The method consists of: This system helps manage energy effectively and maintain concentration over extended periods. Short breaks prevent burnout, and the steady rhythm of work helps fight procrastination and maintain motivation. Time Blocking: Learn to Manage Your Calendar Effectively Another useful technique is time blocking, which involves scheduling your day in blocks of time. Instead of a regular to-do list, you block out specific times in your calendar for each task. For example: Time blocking helps you track time, reduces distractions, and makes your study time more organized. It also helps you understand how long tasks actually take, preventing work from expanding beyond planned time. A key to success with this method is adapting your strategy to the time available each day. By consistently using chosen time management techniques, you can maintain control over your responsibilities, manage your energy better, and avoid feeling overwhelmed. As a result, you’ll not only manage your time more effectively but also boost your productivity and reach your goals faster. Eliminate Distractions In an age of constant notifications, social media, and digital distractions, staying focused can be a real challenge. A buzzing phone, checking emails, or messaging apps can break your concentration and disrupt task completion. This lowers your productivity and wastes valuable time. To manage your time effectively, start by eliminating distractions. Here are a few practical steps: Remember: every distraction costs more than just a few seconds—getting back to deep focus can take 15–20 minutes!Ask yourself: What do I actually spend my time on? Monitoring your habits can reveal how much time you waste on activities unrelated to your goals. Reducing or eliminating these distractions is crucial for effective work and time savings that can be invested in important tasks or rest. Ultimately, you’ll reduce stress, avoid burnout, and discover you’re able to accomplish more in less time. Monitor How You Spend Your Time Tracking your time spent on various activities helps identify areas for improvement. A Non-Standard Course Credit in Internet Marketing Classes

Sometimes, completing a course project takes a non-traditional form – and that was exactly the case during the Internet Marketing classes. In collaboration with the Promotion Section of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw, students worked on a unique course assignment. Applying best practices discussed in class, students were tasked with developing proposals for the 2025 recruitment campaign for the Faculty of Management. A total of 12 project submissions were received. Over the course of more than two weeks, the teams worked on segmentation, market analysis, creative concepts, and finally, media planning. The results were exceptional – a mix of competition, collaboration, and inspiration brought plenty of excitement. There were three award categories: These categories helped determine the winners and recognize all students for their professional approach to the task. Awards were presented by Vice-Dean Prof. Monika Skorek, PhD, DSc, and Monika Magdziarz, Head of the Promotion Section. Congratulations to all students!
