Dr Botwina completed his Bachelor’s degree in Geography at the Jagiellonian University, as well as the English-language International Business Program at the University of Warsaw. During his studies, he participated in the Erasmus international exchange programme, studying at the University of Bucharest and the University of Pisa. In 2019, he obtained his PhD in Social Sciences in the discipline of Management and Quality Sciences at the University of Warsaw. His doctoral dissertation focused on the corporate social responsibility of professional sports organisations, using Polish Ekstraklasa football clubs as a case study. In the years 2024 – 2025, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Ottawa (Telfer School of Management), conducting comparative research on sport policy and governance reforms in Canada and Poland. He is fluent in Polish, English, and French, with working proficiency in Spanish, Italian, and Romanian. Main research areas
Dr Botwina is the author of numerous academic publications and a leader of international research and implementation projects funded by the European Union under programmes such as Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe. His research interests include governance, corporate social responsibility, dual career pathways of athletes, and digital and social innovation. In recent years, he has developed a particular interest in organization theory and social movements. He collaborates with institutions including the European Commission, the International Olympic Committee, governments, and civil society organisations across Europe. He has delivered guest lectures at universities and institutions worldwide. His teaching and lecturing activities cover, among others, the European sport system, good governance reforms, sport policy, innovation in sport, and dual career development.
