General information
The Department’s activities focus on issues related to EU economic law and the internal market, competition and consumer protection, regulation of digital markets and data, intellectual property, as well as human rights and corporate social responsibility. The conducted classes and research take into account the challenges of digital and environmental transformation.
Since 2018, the head of the Department has been Dr. Hab. Prof. Maciej Bernatt. Previously, the longstanding head of the Department was Prof. Dr. Hab. Tadeusz Skoczny.
In the academic year 1999/2000, the Department received the status of Jean Monnet Chair on European Economic Law.
The employees of the Department include:
- Dr. Hab. Maciej Bernatt, Prof. at the University of Warsaw,
- Dr. Magdalena Knapp,
- Dr. Joanna Mazur, and
- Dr. Antoni Napieralski.
In the past, the employees of the Department included Prof. Tadeusz Skoczny and Dr. Hab. Agata Jurkowska-Gomułka.
The Department’s staff serve as supervisors for doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s theses. In particular, under the supervision of Prof. Tadeusz Skoczny, doctoral theses were prepared by Maciej Bernatt, Antoni Bolecki, Agata Jurkowska-Gomułka, Justyna Majcher, Marek Sachajko, and Piotr Semeniuk. Currently, the Department’s staff are supervisors for the doctoral theses of Wojciech Marcinkowski, Marta Sznajder, and Monika Woźniak-Cichuta.
