Information about language courses received from the School of Foreign Languages
Students participating in language classes in the winter semester they should register for the summer semester on their own.
If a student no longer has tokens, should pay the fee for the next semester of language classes.
Students who decide not to attend for important reasons for classes in the summer semester, they will be able to deregister (only from the summer semester!) by:
26/01-30/01/2024
and re-register or re-register for classes with available places
and register for new e-lecture groups for the summer semester on the following dates:
01/02-19/02/2024
23/02-27/02/2024 2nd round (corrections)
Registration always starts at 9:00 p.m. and ends at 23:59.
All new students must register INDEPENDENTLY for foreign language courses via the USOS system – token registration: https://rejestracja.usos.uw.edu.pl/catalogue.php
Students are asked to carefully read the instructions for registering for language courses available on the registration pages; instructions on the website of the Foreign Language Teaching Center of the University of Warsaw: https://szjo.uw.edu.pl/?page_id=3679
Data in the registration system are refreshed periodically and therefore a delayed flow of information, e.g. results of placement tests, should be taken into account. Students who have not yet taken the placement test and will be registering for language courses in the summer semester for the first time should take the placement test, which is available from January 8 to February 25, 2024 at: https://kampus.come.uw .edu.pl/course/index.php?categoryid=28
You only need to take the test once during your studies, but failure to do so will prevent you from registering for a foreign language course. Migration of the placement test result takes up to 2 days – only after this date will it be possible to register for a foreign language course.
The results of placement tests are intended to help in choosing a language course. However, it is the student himself who decides on the final choice of level. The results of the placement test are not binding. Registration includes taking a placement test, but the test result does not limit the possibility of enrolling in a selected language course. A student can enroll in a selected group, even if it has a different level than the result obtained in the placement test.
Group level markings refer to the target level, i.e. the level achieved after completing the course.
Students who are not registered for language courses at USOS will not be able to receive a grade for the course. This is due to the lack of the name of the unregistered student in the USOS protocol.
Part-time students have the opportunity to take advantage not only of groups dedicated to them, but also of other “token” language classes at the University of Warsaw, if they are able to participate in classes that take place during the week and not on weekends. Part-time students can take full advantage of the full range of language courses, and, just like every UW student, they have 240 language course tokens at their disposal.
In the case of e-lectures, a student can only participate in a course at each level once!
In case of problems with registration, students can use the help of the Student Affairs Office of the School of Foreign Languages of the University of Warsaw (student.szjo@uw.edu.pl) or the Office of Didactic Innovation of the University of Warsaw (jezyki.koordynator@uw.edu.pl).
